Maserati Levante Trademarked for Small Sedan?
Reports are coming in strong that Maserati will replace the Quattroporte with not one but two cars. The Quattroporte itself will likely become much bigger to get in the way of the new Mercedes S-Class, but they will also launch a new, smaller sedan as well.
The Italian carmaker has supposedly trademark the Levante name for one of its cars. This is an Arabic word of origin that roughly translates as either East or refers to a region of the Middle East. According to Italian publication MotoriOnline, it’s likely the name to be carried by the baby Maserati sedan.
Rumor has it it will be based on a shortened Chryler LY platform that will also underpin the new Alfa Romeo flagship sedan or coupe and the return of he Barracuda.
