Mario Balotelli Crashes His Audi R8

We’re not sure if automotive producers that bring supercars to life have created such machines in order for them to be driven hard by footballers. Actually, we think that carmakers might even wish that this would never happen, as football players have managed to create a negative driving reputation, killing or hurting an infinity of exquisite machines over the years.

Don’t get us wrong, we admire drivers who use a supercar for its original purpose: speed. But playing with a vehicle’s limits should be an activity performed only under the safe wing of a racetrack.

However, as we’ve said, footballers have made a hobby out of crashing supercars. We admit that sometimes (which just might be the case here) it’s not their fault but on many occasions it's the pedal on the right that causes the accidents. The latest example to demonstrate this collision predisposition can be seen in the adjacent image (this was published by newsoftheworld.co.uk).

The suffering customized Audi R8 that you see here belongs to Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli. The left-hand drive vehicle had been imported from Italy, with the player reportedly having an emotional connection to it.

It seems that the Italian was traveling on the A56 Chester Road on his way to a training session when he had a crash with a BMW. This happened on August 27. “Super Mario” was not injured in the event and was questioned by the police just after the accident happened.

The cause of the accident still remains unknown. A City spokesman told the aforementioned source that the striker could continue his training according to schedule, as the police had pressed no charges against him following the accident.
