LSE Range Rover Sport Coupe to Be Unveiled at SEMA

Although people have always asked for a two-door variant of Range Rover's Sport SUV, the British car manufacturer never confirmed plans to build such a model, remaining focused on upgrading the standard Sport.

However, unexpected help came from UK-based tuning company LSE Design, who built their own Coupe variant of Range Rover Sport. More importantly, this special edition of Range rover's SUV is set to debut at SEMA, an aftermarket show scheduled for November 4-7, 2008.

As expected, buying such a special Range Rover Sport is quite expensive, each of the 200 units (that's right, LSE Design said it will only build 200 models of the Coupe, 50 of them especially addressed to the US market) being sold for $250,000 (197,000 euros), without taxes.

The base Range Rover Sport has numerous high performance features, starting with the three-bar grille that maximizes airflow and ending with the rear spoiler that reduces drag and turbulence.

In terms of safety, the SUV has no less than eight airbags, combined with dynamic stability control and Active Roll Mitigation. The interior was customized with sports seats while the center console provides easy access to all functions without requiring the driver to lean over the stick shift. The driver seat, based on the so-called “command driving position”, is said to provide the best possible visibility while driving.

There are three engine configurations available: supercharged V8, twin turbo diesel V8 and twin turbo diesel V6. All of them are combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission, providing an average fuel consumption of 17.8 liters per 100 km (V8 Supercharged).
