Most Ferrari models are collectibles from the moment they leave the factory.
As long as nobody crashes them and the vehicles are not damaged or ill-treated in any way, their resale value has the potential to remain high for many years, even if they get driven.

The most valuable models are the ones manufactured in limited numbers, as in a maximum specified output. Resale values are high for special editions of these cars, as well as models with low miles and full documentation.

British classic car dealer Hexagon has published an ad for a 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta. This model was designed by Pininfarina and was the convertible version of the Ferrari 550.

The Italian automaker only built 448 units of this model, along with 12 additional pre-production prototypes that were visually identical to the series car. The prototypes feature a special plaque in their interiors, but this is not the case with the example visible in the photo gallery.

The 550 Barchetta is a 5.5-liter V12 front-engined roadster version of a Grand Tourer, which was introduced in 2000. The automaker built this model for only two years, and it was special because it was launched 23 years after the 365 GTB/4Daytona model, the last rear-wheel drive Ferrari with a front-mounted V12 before this car came along.

This roadster is not a conventional convertible, as it comes with a fabric top that is only intended for occasional use. Furthermore, Ferrari warned owners not to use the fabric hood at speeds above 70 mph (110 km/h). So grasp that if you buy this mint example, which has only been driven 1,625 miles since new.

This model was first sold in Japan, and is complete with original handbooks and spare keys. It comes with its original “Giallo Fly” paint, as well as a matching Nero leather interior and Nero carpeting.

Considered one of the greatest drivers’ cars on the market available at the time of launch, this model also comes with a gated manual transmission, which looks stunning. The seller has specified that it has received a recent belt service, and that the car is ready to drive.

Its price is less than important, but we will mention it for the sake of statistics - 395,000 GBP. It might seem like a lot, but where else are you going to find a 2001 Ferrari roadster with a V12, a gated manual, and just shy of 1,600 miles on the clock?

In over fourteen years, he got behind the wheel of several hundred vehicles and in the offices of the most important car publications in his homeland.
