Lotus Tries to Revitalize Sales Efforts
Thus, the sportscar maker has recruited former BMW employee Karl Heinz Kalbfell, who will try to revitalize the bottom line. According to his interview with Autocar, the reason why Lotuses aren’t selling is that people just aren’t aware of their merits.
“The brand is well known, but the products are not. We have some great cars in our range, like the Evora. Many car companies would love to have the Evora in their range. Now we must get the car to the buyers’ shopping list,” Kalbfell says.
Lotus even hopes that the Esprit, which is coming next year, will be the stuff of dreams, being able to take on the Ferrari and McLaren rivals. But without public awareness this will all be for nothing.
