Look at the Tesla Model 3 from Every Angle with This Interactive 3D Rendering

Despite its design not being a secret anymore, Tesla hasn't released more than a handful of official Model 3 pictures. There are plenty of videos on the Web from the car's launching event - as well as a visit to the factory - but they still won't let you look at the future electric sedan from whatever angle you'd like.

There's a very good reason for that, and that's just been reiterated these past few days: Model 3's design isn't a closed affair yet. Of course, we shouldn't expect any major changes, but Tesla doesn't want to risk people getting used to a certain feature that might not make it on the production car. So, for the moment, less is better, as far as Musk's company is concerned.

People are curious, though, and some of them are also technically and artistically gifted. When the two meet, something like this interactive 3D rendering is born, giving us the opportunity to have a more detailed look at the upcoming EV that's probably going to change a lot of what we know about the car industry.

You can simply use your mouse to rotate the image, go into full screen and even view the 3D model in HD. If you're an early adopter and have access to some sort of VR headset (Google cardboard will do it), you can even enter virtual reality alongside the Model 3. The author's name is Mike Pan and he's based in Vancouver, Canada, where he "dabbles in 3D art, programming, game-making, book-writing and photography," according to his own description. You can visit his website at mikepan.com.

Unless Mike has access to some unreleased Tesla information on the Model 3 (he doesn't), his rendering isn't very precise. We've included an image of the two cars - the one penned by him and the official image released by Tesla - side by side, and the differences are obvious. In Mike's rendering the overhangs are dramatically short (especially since the ones on the real car are already very short), and there are a number of things wrong with the rear end. The roofline is also way too dropped at the back, which would make the Model 3 a very unpractical five-seater in reality. There isn't that much space left for the trunk, either, even though Mike did considerably push the seats forward.

So, yeah, it's not perfect, but it's been put together based solely on the same material we've seen so far, so Mike deserves all the credit. He says it took him about two weeks, so it's clear he didn't lack determination. Oh, and in case electric vehicles aren't your thing, then you should at least check his BMW 1 Series M renderings.
