Lister Cars Back in Business After 25-Year Hiatus
Almost 25 years since the last production Lister was built, the three Lister companies - George Lister Engineering of Cambridge, Brian Lister Light Engineering and Lister Storm - have been reunited into one company that intends to develop continuation cars of the legendary Lister “Knobbly” Jaguar.
The newly-founded organization has announced it has invested in a new facility in Cambridge, UK, and that Jaguar D Type-specification engines and gearboxes have been commissioned from Crosthwaite & Gardiner, one of the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of parts to the historic motor racing industry.
“Anyone with a fondness for British sports car manufacturing and with an understanding of Lister’s remarkable heritage should rightly be excited by this news. The Lister ‘Knobbly’ was a powerful, giant-killing racing car in its heyday, and with all the expertise we have brought together for this project, I can promise that the new Lister will be a fabulously exciting and desirable car. This is a passionate undertaking for us and we also have some very exciting plans for the future.”
The first new Lister “Knobbly” Jaguar race cars are scheduled to arrive in 2015.
