Lincoln's Customers Choose Models with AWD
"One of the greatest benefits of luxury is choice," C.J. O'Donnell, Group Marketing Manager for Lincoln, said.
"That is why Lincoln customers are able to equip any of our cars and crossovers with an advanced all-wheel drive system," he added.
At this moment, in 2011, 72% of Lincoln’s MKT crossover customers and 62% of Lincoln’s MKX crossover clientele have chose models with AWD. And this is not all, as 46% of MKS’s sedan clients, as well as 25% of MKZ’s sedan purchasers also opted for the AWD feature to be available on their cars.
On the MKS EcoBoost TM and MKT EcoBoost models, All Wheel Drive systems are available as a standard feature. The system has proven its reliability through the roughest conditions and driving situations, managing to provide the optimum performance and safety levels.
The AWD featured on models such as MKS, MKT, and MKZ is completely automatic, as it uses an advanced amount of hardware and controls, in order to provide the maximum torque needed between front and rear wheels, thus offering optimum traction to all wheels.
The AWD fitted on the new MKX 2 crossover is a new generation system developed to improve, besides traction, handling into corners.
"We're seeing the number of customers choosing all-wheel drive increasing steadily as drivers appreciate the benefits," says O'Donnell.
"More than half of our crossover customers are enjoying the reassurance that all-wheel drive delivers, such that once they have experienced it, they don't want to give it up,“ he explained. "We see all-wheel drive as a core technology option for the entire Lincoln line-up, both today and for the future," he concluded.
