Lincoln MKC Concept Unveiled [Photo Gallery]
Despite there not being any similar body panels, there’s no mistaking this for anything else other than a re-bodied Ford Escape (Kuga).
However, it’s certainly imposing and powerful, with plenty of design elements and an amazing non-production interior.
“We are reinventing Lincoln by focusing on the largest and fastest-growing segments of the luxury market, while offering clients something different”, said executive vice president of Lincoln’s global marketing, sales and services Jim Farley. “The just-introduced MKZ re-establishes Lincoln in the largest luxury segment and the MKC Concept highlights a key opportunity in the fastest-growing part of the luxury market.”
Th concept’s interior looks like Lincoln’s best in terms of styling so far. The shape of the dash seems production-intent, but those amazing leather seats fall under the category of “too good to be true”. The boot is even lined with white leather and features chrome strips to protect it. The glass roof goes almost the length of the car and creates a light, airy atmosphere.
“There is a significant upgrade in materials and a stylish, fashion-oriented package. The materials are combined with progressive combinations and uses of stitching and colors”, said Soo Kang, Lincoln interior design chief.
autoevolution will be attending the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
