Lightning Sets New Land Speed Record for Electric Bikes at Bonneville
According to Electric Race News, 2011 saw Lightning able to do past 217 mph (349.15 km/h), but this happened in an event not sanctioned by the AMA or the FIM (Southern California Timing Associated). It's obvious that their bike could do much better,a nd the prospects in this direction are encouraging, to say the least.
The weather begged to differ this time as a very powerful storm put an early end to all the racing after transforming the salt flats into a lake.
Lightning's solar panel charging van was also successfully used, even though a contest for the best mobile charging station is yet to be created.
