“Positioned below the RX, the new NX model will provide an exciting entry point into the Lexus crossover and luxury utility vehicle family.  Its expressive design and turbocharged performance embody the technology and design focused direction customers can expect from Lexus,” said Jeff Bracken, Lexus group vice president and general manager.

Coming with a bold aggressive design, which can also be enhanced with the available F Sport pack, the NX will be available with three different powertrains.

NX 200t

Here are the big news – Lexus' first turbocharged gasoline engine. The 2-liter unit features a twin scroll turbocharger, direct injection and a combination of water-cooled cylinder head with integrated exhaust manifold. Power output is rated at 235 hp and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm).

The engine gets mated with a six-speed automatic transmission which features new torque-demand control, calculating required engine torque and maximizing it to deliver quick response to acceleration and exhiliriating feel along with fuel economy.

Differentiating the turbocharged model from the rest of the lineup will be a special color-keyed front lower lip and the two chromed parallelogram exhaust tips at the back, along with a slightly different rear bumper.

NX 300h

Lexus' classic hybrid powertrain will also be available in the new NX. The 300h combines a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle engine, generator, motor and battery pack to offer a total of 194 hp.

Available in both front- and all-wheel drive, the NX 300h will also come with sprung-weight damping control in order to increase ride comfort and handling stability by reducing pitching on uneven surfaces.

NX 200

The new 200 will be offered in China and Russia. The 2-liter Valvematic gasoline engine is mated to a Sequential-Continuously Variable Transmission.

The engine is aided by extended valve opening angle and diagonally mounted injectors to optimize fuel mixture to produce strong power through the rev range.

Technology wise, the all new Lexus NX comes with an array of amenities, including the available Wireless Charging Tray, Remote Touch Interface, Pre-Collision System with All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, power folding rear seats and Lane Departure Alert, while the standard Multi-information Display features and available G sensor and boost meter.
