Lexus has for a while now been considering a coupe version of the recently launched GS 350 sedan. This will use the same styling and architecture and be aimed directly at buyers of the Audi A5 and Mercedes Benz E-Class Coupe.
Now, Inside Line is reporting that the GS Coupe is closer than we thought - the 2014 model year, ready to hit the market in late 2013.

The coupe will improve the emotional response people get when mentioning the Lexus brand, and will be an even better way to use the new company design language, as the spindle grille has yet to be translated into a two-door.

The only concert we have is that while the 350 would be cheaper, the more expensive 450h variant would be better for improving the company image. But whatever the case, a rear-wheel drive coupe will always be welcomed.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
