LED Headlights Now Free on SEAT Leon

The SEAT Leon was recently named car of the year by Auto Express. Now normally, we wound't care about that, but it shows that British customers are really well taken care off there.

Want proof? The new Leon, which is brand new and should sell without any effort from the company, is now available with free LED headlights. They are part of the Technology Pack, which also features DAB radio and satellite navigation.

All Leon 3 model bought between now and the end of summer 2013 will have full-LED headlights as part of the package witch is worth almost £2,000 in technology.

Right now, the Leon is the only family hatchback sold in Britain with LED headlights. LEDs are better than xenon bulbs because they rovide a light beam that’s closer to natural daylight, and they do so while using less power.

Functioning on low beam, full-LED headlights operate using around half the power of a xenon bulb, and they’re extremely durable, with a life of at least 10,000 hours. That would be like using them for 60 weeks without ever shutting them off.

"Light is measured using colour temperature in kelvins (K), and where natural daylight is around 5,500 K, the Leon’s full-LED headlights measure 5,300 K. Xenon headlamps, by comparison, register at around 4,200 K, and halogen bulbs at 3,000 K," SEAT explains.
