A British family was on their vacation in Italy, traveling by minibus, which eventually ended up in a river because the driver was following sat-nav directions too stubbornly.
The twelve-member family was traveling on a dirt road, with 40-years-old father Michael blindly following the GPS indications. He soon got on the banks of a swollen river and managed to get the car stuckr in deep mud.
"It was all cut up and littered with rocks - it certainly wasn't a road - and at the end was this river which was going quite quick and that's when I knew something wasn't quite right and I started to get worried as didn't know how we would get out." said Michael in an interview.
The family got rescued by the Italian police, who arrived three hours later due to the rough location in which the family was stranded.
