Land Rover Wants to Drop Alphanumeric Names
According to Car and Driver, the British manufacturer will soon adopt a new naming arrangement that will be in place the world over.
So what’s this all about? Well, the vehicles that US customers call the LR4 and LR2 are actually called the Discovery and Freelander in their land of birth. The change will mean that Land Rover’s marketing machine will have an easier job making these cars look good, as well as helping with the heritage.
The badge changes will only take place, however, with the arrival of new generations of the aforementioned vehicles.
