We already knew that the Land Rover Discovery Sport will feature an optional 5+2 seating configuration, but Land Rover has just released a new teaser video ahead of the official debut next month showing more details of SUV’s interior. Designed as a replacement for the Freelander/LR2, the Discovery Sport looks to package a large and luxurious interior into a small package.
The most important new feature of the Discovery Sport is its seven-passenger seating capacity. The “+2” would indicate that the rearmost seat will likely be relegated to smaller passengers or friends you don’t really like, but with the combination of a sliding and reclining second row seats and the fold-flat third-row jump seats, there might actually be some useable room back there.
Another cool feature revealed in this video is the massive panoramic roof that extends all the way back to the SUV’s C-pillars. It will be interesting to see how the Discovery Sport is priced when it goes on sale next year, but it looks like it could finally give Land Rover a competitive vehicle in the small luxury crossover/SUV segment.
Aside from these two elements, the rest of the interior design is exactly what we’ve come to expect from the latest crop of Land Rover and Range Rover SUVs.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport will be unveiled on September 2nd, but we’re assuming Land Rover will be releasing plenty of additional information in the meantime. Until then, you can check out the short teaser video below.
