Lancia Ypsilon Reinvented
To start selling next month, the new Ypsilon carries over much from the previous generation, but also brings a few new features that are hoped to create the huss and fuss the brand needs so badly. The standard engine mounted on the car, the 1.2 Fire EVO II, which develops 69 horsepower, will however not be the attraction of the lineup.
That attraction wears the name TwinAir, and it’s Fiat's engine of the year, the two cylinder unit, that managed to impress the world when it debuted on the 500. Smaller than the FIRE, TwinAir is more potent, being capable of developing 85 horsepower. Diesel fans will have only one option, the 1.3l engine which develops 95 horsepower. All engines will be offered with a Start/Stop system.
Another thing that is sure to create agitation among the brand's fans is the fact that for the Ypsilon Fiat spared no expense and offers what is potentially a limitless range of personalization options. In all, 17 body colors (four of which are two-tone combinations), 3 interior trim levels (Silver, Gold and Platinum), 6 different upholstery trims and 3 types of alloy wheels can be combined with other elements to create a total of 600 individualization features.
Prices for the Ypsilon have still not been announced.
