Lancia Stratos Stradale For Sale in The Netherlands

Over the years, Lancia has made some pretty remarkable four-wheel wonders. The Fulvia, Montecarlo and Delta Integrale are some of the most appreciated models built by the almost defunct Italian manufacturer, but one nameplate is quite a bit more special than the others - the rally-bred awesomeness know as the Lancia Stratos.

In order to run a handful of Group 5 and Group 4-spec Stratos rally cars in the 1970s, Lancia had to build 500 street models for homologation purposes. Ultimately, the Turin-based manufacturer assembled only 492 cars and the full-fledged Stratos went to win the World Rally Championship a respectable three times in a row.

Just like the HF, the Stradale version of the Stratos features a powertrain co-developed by the most important name in the business - Ferrari. Under the sublime wedge shaped bodyshell designed by Bertone's Marcello Gandini, the Stratos is propelled by a mid-mounted 2.4-liter DOHC V6 mill sourced from the beautiful Ferrari Dino 246.

Thanks to the 2,161 lbs (980 kg) weight and 190 horsepower sent to the chunky rear tires, the Lancia Stratos Stradale was good for a top speed of 144 mph (232 km/h) and a zero to 60 mph run of under 5 seconds. When it was launched, the Stratos Stradale was an expensive little so-and-so, but the ultra rare rally-bred legend has grown in value over the years significantly.

Take the car we've found while surfing the classifieds - it's a 1976 Lancia Stratos Stradale that shows 54,800 original kilometers (34,051 miles) on the odometer. This very machine presents itself in very good, almost original condition, with the mouse hair carpets and headlining still looking great.

Sitting at just 1,1 meters (43.7 inches) from the ground and featuring a ludicrously small wheelbase of 2,180 mm (85.8 in), the Stratos was a lairy car to drive even in de-tuned Stradale guise. So how much do you think the seller wants for this extremely good shape, perfect working condition work of art on wheels with bucketloads of motorsport pedigree on top?

We don't know how to soften the blow, so here is the straightest answer possible: if you want this orange exterior and beige interior 1976 Lancia Stratos Stradale, you'll need to rob a bank or win the lottery in order to come up with €375,000, which translates to £300,000 or $510,000 at current exchange rates.
