Despite its ludicrous price tag and controversial looks, the Lamborghini Veneno was one of Geneva’s most anticipated cars. The supercar was built in only three units, which were sold almost immediately, and recent rumors started talking about possible roadster version coming from Sant’Agata.
And it looks like they were right, as Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has just confirmed that the Italian automaker will build a small run of roadsters in the near future.
Speaking to Car and Driver, Winkelmann said Lamborghini will assemble nine examples of the open-top Veneno, with pricing set at €3.3 million, €300,000 more than the hard-top version, which means about $4.4 million at current exchange rates. As far as powertrain is concerned, the Veneno Roadster will arrive with the same specs as the first edition, Winkelmann added.
No word on when the Veneno Roadster is set to arrive, but our source claims “the car may never be shown to the public”...
