About a week ago, we brought you a report that Lamborghini was already working on a replacement for the Gallardo supercar and that it would be ready in concept form at least for the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. It seems the rumors were correct, because a full-bodied prototype has been scooped.
We don't know the details behind this picture, but it appeared on Shmee150's Facebook page a few hours ago and has been causing a lot of discussion.
The look of the new V10 supercar is different to what we thought it would be and quite a departure from the Gallardo. The bonnet seems quite long for a mid-engined car, reminding us of a Noble M600.
Power for the Cabrera will come from an updated V10 engine rated at 600 horsepower. All-wheel drive and an automated gearbox will probably be standard except for the very rare RWD special editions that are coming later in the model's life.
There's not a lot we can tell you right now, so we'd like to hear from you. What do you guys think of the design? Is it a winner or not?
Either way, the Gallardo has at least 2 more years before it's replaced, so there's plenty of time to buy the right car.
