We still have high hopes for seeing a Lamborghini Gallardo successor concept for Christmas, but the Italians are keeping their mouth shot. Thus, the only thing we can do is give you a fresh set of spyshots with the car, expected to be called Cabrera.
These images show the Lamborghini wearing a set of wheels that bring Lamborghini models of the past to mind. What’s more, there are a few shots in which the Cabrera’s door mirrors seems extremely long - perhaps even longer than the Aventador that was brought along for the testing session.
The Cabrera is expected to be powered by a reincarnation of the current V10 engine, a unit that already received an overhaul during the Gallardo’s lifetime. Other rumors place Audi’s new 4.0-liter TFSI engine at the middle of the Cabrera, but we think this will never happen, since natural aspiration is still the way for Lambo.
An all-new engine was also discussed online, but, again, we don’t see this as a possibility, as the investment would perhaps come too soon.
Regardless of this, Sant’Agata Bolognese is still teasing us with its Hexagon Project these days, but we can only supposed this is connected to the Gallardo replacement.
