Lamborghini Aventador Wrapped in Gold Chrome

It's been a while since we last featured a project from from Diamond Black Exteriors, but we're glad we're still following them because today they released this clip, a mighty Aventador parading its hot stuff in bright gold.

Chrome wrapping is nothing new, but this project took a lot of time to get right because of all the wedges, buttresses and ramps on this car. This isn't designed with the round curves of a VW Beetle, mind you.

For now, this Aventador is going to be the kind of the streets, at least until somebody wraps one in real gold. But, since this isn't the Middle East, that's unlikely to happen.

Is a Lamborghini Aventador worth a real golden wrap? Well, what time is it again? Because if it’s passed 6 pm, we can officially admit this Raging Bull deserves all the appreciation in the world. Have we told you it was shaped after Lamborghini’s limited-edition Reventon and their Estoque concept car? The engine new 700 PS 6.5-liter V12 engine weighs in at 235 kg. It is the first all-new V12 since the 3.5-liter powerplant found in the 350GT.

In terms of figures, were looking at a 0 to 60 mph (0-97 km/h) reach in 2.9 seconds and an official top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h). Its transmission, a single-clutch seven-speed semi-automatic, is built by Graziano Transmissioni. Heck, even its name is unusual. Keeping with its tradition, the Italian maker named the Aventador after a fighting bull. Production will be limited to 4,000 units. The molds use to make the carbon-fiber monocoque are expected to last 500 units each, and only 8 have been made.

In other words, if some oil Tycoon will one day decide wrapping it in real gold, you should not be surprised. After all, this is a piece of jewelry by itself and should receive all the respect it deserves.
