Lamborghini Aventador vs McLaren MP4-12C: Why Launch Control Matters

When you’re in a Lamborghini Aventador, about to drag race a McLaren MP4-12C and it starts raining, a huge smile will show up on your face. However, you may want to leave the weather out of this and mind your launch. To illustrate just how important this is, we’ve brought along the video below.

The clip shows an Aventador battling it out with an MP4-12C on a wet runway. However, the Lamborghini driver fails to use launch control, with the single clutch struggling to get the car moving, albeit only for a brief moment.

Nonetheless, this was enough for the Mac to take the lead from the very beginning. One would imagine that the Aventador could recover, but, at least in this case, it never does.

By the looks of it, the The British supercar manages to keep a small edge up to the end of the race.
