Everybody knows Ferrari performs exorcism rituals on customer that aim to buy its special models, but in the case of the LaFerrari, the Italians were even more drastic, since only 499 units were unleashed onto the market. However, the speculation market has apparently found a way around the Prancing Horse’s LaFerrari clientele selection obsession.
The result of all that comes from Japan, where an example of the hybrid hypercar was recently listed as being up for grabs. Have you ever wondered how much the shipping from Japan would cost? Well, those of you who have, can forget about it.
That amount of money means absolutely nothing compared to what the speculators are asking for the LaFerrari. To be more precise, the ad, which is found on the Yahoo auctions (Japanese page) website, is listed at JPY 350,000,000. That, ladies and gentlemen, is translated into US$ 3.44 million or EUR 2.55 million at the current exchange rates.
While the aforementioned price may or may not include Japanese market specific taxes, it’s still more than double the money Ferrari intended its clients to pay for grabbing a LaFerrari.
Still, the ad is more than a little shady. While the astronomical price might be just an arrogant move from the wicked market, the images aren’t real, since they’re coming from the hypercar’s debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Oh dear, somebody over in Maranello must be really, really upset about this...
