Koichi Suzuki to GMAC: "We Need Loans"

That's why, the American Suzuki's executive vice president of automotive operations is trying to convince GMAC Financial Services to provide more consumer and wholesale loans to dealers, Autonews reported.
"Everything is on the table," explains Suzuki spokesman Jeff Holland.
In order to achieve this specific purpose, Koichi Suzuki will meet with GMAC executives this week. However, the man has a tough task to accomplish. He should convince them that the new models such as the production version of the Kizashi 3 concept sedan will sell, which, to be honest, it's very hard to believe these days.
But Koichi Suzuki will use all his persuasion abilities to make them believe these models will attract prime financing customers, says Tom Georgalis, owner of Empire Suzuki in Dallas and chairman of the Dealer Advisory Board. He went on saying that "It would be ludicrous to say GMAC hasn't questioned me about the viability of Suzuki."
As a matter of fact, Suzuki dealers' hopes rely on the communication abilities of Koichi as they have no captive floorplan provider. They only use GMAC subsidiary, American Suzuki Financial Services, for consumer loans. More importantly, they lost a source of subprime consumer loans when Nuvell Financial Services closed on March 7, last year.
Will Koichi Suzuki manage to obtain the loans? We have to wait and see and until then we would like to remind you that he has recently returned to the United States from Japan to attempt to bring the Japanese car maker on the floating line after sales in US alarmingly dropped by 48.7 percent in January.
