The Geneva Motor Show will bring us a long list of fresh goodies and one of the most exotic will come from Swedish supercar producer Koenigsegg, who will preview 100th car at the Swiss event.
Waiting one month for something like this will be extremely painful, but the Swedes have offered us something to think about meanwhile, annoucing that it is working to develop a camless engine. We are talking about a pneumatic valvetrain that is inspired from the world of Formula One.

Since there’s no camshaft, the valve lift and opening time are infinitely variable and this also allows cylinder deactivation. In addition to that, the system is also more energy efficient. However, the fact that it comes with drawbacks in areas such as refinement and reliability have kept such a development from being released until now.
