Gerald Kiska of Kiska Design fame is one of the guys responsible for the way KTM bikes look. However, the design skills of Kiska and his team have been bestowed upon more than motorcycles, with the KTM X-Bow and Airoh helmets being only few of the Matighoffen-branded products. Kiska and Airoh introduce the KTM version of the Aviator 2.1 off-road helmet, with new graphics which takes a step on the wild and darker side.
Derestricted says the 2015 version of the helmet arrives in two trims, one remaining faithful to the older designs, with plenty of white and bright colors, and its opposing, yet matching counterpart, an Aviator with a darker, more sober livery dominated by black, grey, silver flakes and minimalist bright orange and neon yellow accents.

The Aviator lids are favored by Kiska because of their lightweight construction and comfortable fit. The outer shell is a carbon and Kevlar composite which is delivered in no less than three shell sizes for optimal weight and fit, painted and UV-protected for a long-lasting finish. The interior is manufacturer with anatomically-designed panels of Dry-treated microfiber, with Bulpren mesh filters on the vents, and transpiring net inserts for better moisture management. The whole liner is removable and washable and the check pads also come with the Airoh Emergency Fast Remove (AEFR) system.

Aviator 2.1 2015 customers also benefit from the multiple front vents and upper/ lower extractors (the upper ones have removable covers), a chin guard, an adjustable beak and double aluminium D-ring retention strap.

These helmets will most likely be available soon in KTM dealerships and at select Airoh retailers. The casual carbon 2014 Aviators can be clawed on ebay for around $430 (€330), but we can expect that the KTM ones arrive with a higher price.
