Kicherer GL 42 Black Line Makes Baby Jesus Cry
The Kicherer GL 42 Black Line is just the thing for those kind of people. The base vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz GL 420 CDI, but the German engineers have transformed its powerplant from your regular torque monster to something that can probably pull the moon closer.
No less than 360 hp and 900 Nm (663.8 lb ft) can help you pull just about what ever needs pulling to a maximum speed of 280 km/h (174 mph), electronically limited. The suspension of course has been revised (read: lowered and hardened) for better handling at high speed, while the exhaust is now a two-pass system.
The visual modifications are pretty slim and consist of a special edition 21 inch set of wheels with black spokes, lateral running boards for the Al Capone in you, wider fenders, a blackened tri-star logo on the black grill and numerous other black body trims. As you can notice, the keyword with the whole car is “black”. The interior was also touched by darkness, with a sports steering wheel, carbon fiber trim and complete leather equipment.
Just from the visual appearance, this looks like something either a Darth Vader impersonator or Ozzy Osbourne would be driving on a daily basis, but we fail to acknowledge why anyone would buy this over an R-Klasse. The “revised” ground clearance has deleted any advantage the GL actually had over the R-Klasse, so what exactly is the point? Anyway, for whom it may concern, the base price for a GL equipped exactly like this is 125,820 euros, but the good news is that every tuning component on the car can be ordered separately.
