Kia Soul EV Production to Start in Korea This Month

The guys from Kia have some news for us concerning its all-electric Soul EV. Apparently, the company will begin production of the said vehicle, sometime next month , at a factory in Korea.

In case you didn’t know, this car will be the first plug-in series electric car from the Kia/Hyundai partnership that is going to be exported from Korea. Concerning its price, unfortunately, the company has not yet offered any clear information.

This particular all-electric vehicle promises a power of 109 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque, all with a single-speed reduction gear instead than a traditional transmission. Moreover, interested customers should know that the Soul EV hits a 0-60 mph time below 12 seconds, top speed being that of around 90 mph.

Concerning the engine, Kia’s Soul comes with a 27kWh lithium-ion polymer battery that can be charged in less than 24 minutes if one uses a fast charger. In case you do not have one at your disposal, a standard 240-volt circuit will get you car ready in four hours.

From a design point of view, the hatchback brings forth some interesting body shades, destined to emphasize the vehicle’s features. Furthermore, the Soul EV also comes with 16-inch wheels, LED lighting plus other improvements. Concerning its availability, the Soul EV will be available in the US, Europe as well as other markets.
