While the Nissan Cube is being killed off following the 2014 model year due to poor sales, the exact opposite is the case for its funky hatchback rival, the Kia Soul. Through the first six months of 2014, the Soul is just 7,000 units away from being the top-selling car in the Kia lineup.
To keep the positive momentum going, Kia is making a few minor changes to the 2015 Kia Soul, which comes just one model year after a major redesign. The 2015 Kia Soul is still offered in three trim levels, Base, Plus and Exclaim, and pricing has been increased for all models by just $200 and the destination charge has risen from $795 to $800.

None of the updates for 2015 can be considered big, but one of the most notable is that the base trim level now allows customers to add Kia’s UVO eServices as an option. Previously unavailable on the base car, customers can now add this advanced telematics system for $800, which includes 10 years of free service. This package also adds a backup camera, automatic headlights and fog lights.

There are no packaging changes being made to the mid-level Soul Plus, but the range-topping Soul Exclaim gets a snazzier look with the new Umber Package options. Available only on cars painted in Fathom Blue or Cloud White, the Umber Package adds gloss black wheel inserts and Nappa leather seats and door trim. On models equipped with the standard cloth seats, the Umber Package 1 will cost $900, but if you’ve already stepped up to the fully loaded The Whole Shabang Package (no really, that’s what it’s called), then the Umber Package 2 is just $400.

Speaking of pricing, the base 2015 Kia Soul will start at $15,100 for the manual transmission and $17,100 with the automatic. Step up to the Soul Plus and you're looking at a starting price of $18,600, while the Soul Exclaim starts at $20,700. If you go crazy and check all of the available option boxes, the 2015 Kia Soul will top out at an even $27,000. That’s no small chunk of change, but it’s also a lot of car for the money.
