After consecutive trailers revealed this car from the top, side and front, the GT4 Stinger has officially debuted at the Detroit Auto Show. What do we think of it after seeing it in person? Drumroll please… it's a great looking car, of course.
The South Korean automaker has worked hard to get to where it is today, and the GT4 is the sort of concept that shows they like to let their hair down once in a while. But let's get on thing clear about this thing. The official press release states that "there are currently no plans to bring the concept to production."

They said that about the Tracker Concept as well, back in 2012, and the current generation Kia Soul has more than a passing resemblance to it.

The GT4 is as much a Gran Turismo car as it is a sports coupe. It even has the matching powertrain. Supposedly, under that sculpted bonnet is a 315-hp 2-liter T-GDI turbocharged four-cylinder unit that sends its power to the rear via a six-speed manual gearbox. That sounds like exactly the same powertrain as a Hyundai Genesis Coupe, but this car is about a foot shorter. IN fact, with a wheelbase of just 2618mm, it's closer to the Toyobaru (wheelbase of 2570mm) than anything else.

2+2 coupes are not as popular as they used to be, but if Kia wants to get noticed, one of these days it's going to have to put one of its sexy concepts into production. Either this or the Veloster-like FWD car will have to be built.

We think this is the Mustang's younger, thinner cousin that's come to visit from abroad. She's a gorgeous and we want to date her, but her eyes look a little crazy.
