The art of drifting has allocated a lot of competitions where drivers and their overdosed sideways-travelling vehicles race each other and get crowds going. Now, it's time for the Goodwood Festival of Speed to receive the same prescription.
For the first time in the festival's history, the Goodwood celebrations will be amplified by a particular category, dedicated to drifters and their machines. And although the motorsport world is filled with skilled drifters, it's darn hard to ignore names like Ken Block and 'Mad’ Mike Whiddett.

That's right, these two professional drivers will inaugurate the new drifting section at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on all three days of live motorsport action in the ‘Catch my Drift?’ category.

So, what should the public expect from the show? Well, let's put it this way. Mad Mike will bring his Mazda RX-7 for another episode of tire-smoking chaos after last year's display that took place on the same stage.

Moreover, Ken Block will raise the stake with his infernal 850 HP Ford Mustang dubbed the ‘Hoonicorn’. So yeah, the Gymkhana guru and master of 300 million views on YouTube will be in the flesh at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

But the cast list doesn't stop here. Those attending the festival will be able to watch James Deane, last year’s EXTREME Drift Allstars European Champion, who brings his Falken Motorsports Nissan 200SX S14 to Goodwood’s 1.16-mile hillclimb.

Also, a 1000 HP Budmat R34 Skyline and a BMW M4 will join the tire torture driven by Poland’s Piotr Wiecek and Norway’s top drifting star, Joachim Waargaard.
