When enthusiasts heard about Ken Block hitting this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, some of them expected the Gymkhana man to have an easy time in the UK, but that couldn't be further from the truth.
For one thing, the DC Shoes owner has set an incredibly high sliding bar for himself. After so many installments of the Gymkhana series, his tire-melting show risks crumbling under ints own weight, which is why he must always ensure he's one step ahead of his imaginary drifting ghost (gamers will easily understand this one).

Then there's the fierce competition KB had from Red Bull-branded pieces of machinery. It all started with Aussie pro drifter doing his thing on the Goodwood Hillclimb, which means putting his 1,000 HP Mazda RX-8 to good use. Staying true to his name, the athlete also one-upped himself by giving us a demonstration of drift-parking.

Oh, and let's not forget about the 22,000 lbs Kamaz Dakar truck, while also went... drifting on the seriously tight track.

Now, Ken Block visited the Festival in one of his Gymkhana Fiestas. On one hand, this brought a serious horsepower asset, as the man had 650 hp at the mercy of his right foot. However, this also meant he had to raise up to the standards mentioned above in an all-wheel-drive machine and this is where the narrow 1.12-mile course truly risked becoming an issue.

How did Ken overcome this? Check out the piece of footage below, which shows his full run, and you'll get your answer. And while you're at it, you should also pay attention to the attitude of the audience, which will easily help you... catch their drift.

P.S.: If you're looking for a way to steer clear of all the drifting going on at this year's FoS, you chould check out the Bugatti Chiron's Hillclimb adventure.
