We were expecting more details on the upcoming Kawasaki Ninja h2 supercharged bike to be revealed in the 5 September video teaser, but that one was completely devoid of any useful information. Instead of adding some info on the H2, it was only a roundup of Kawasaki’s history as a large company deeply involved in technological progress. The 4th video however lets us know the generic lines of the new bike, and it looks like we might be in for a really mean-looking machine unveiled in Cologne.
If we were to judge the Ninja H2 solely upon the contre-jour photo, we’d say that Kawasaki will deliver a track-only machine. The pictured bike has a solo seat and is equipped with slick tires. However, this is only what this image coveys, with nothing 100% certain. A closer look at the photo also reveals carbon fiber panels on the front fairing, and sharp lines for the front end.

Still, the profile of the fuel tank seems rather tall for a track bike, leaving little room for riders to tuck behind the bubble windscreen. Track bikes are usually equipped with a flatter tank which allows riders to exercise a very low profile alongside straights, but again, maybe it is only a false impression the lighting on the H2 creates.

As for the solo seat and the rumors of the H2 being equipped with a forced induction 1400cc class engine… it’s really hard to figure out anyone would consider riding with a passenger on such a beastly machine that’s so obviously focused on extreme speed and acceleration. Stay tuned for more video teasers in a couple of days or so.
