As of June 1st, 2012, BMW will have a new man in charge of design. Karim Habib is a 42-year-old Lebanese-Canadian, who since March of last year has been in charge of exterior design.
He is also personally credited with the exterior design of the current 7-Series and the 2007 CS Concept. From now on Habib will be in charge of all BMW cars’ design and will report directly to drian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design.

"I feel very honoured and I look forward to this new challenge. Now I have the opportunity of working together with a great team to shape the future face of the BMW brand,” Habib says.

After earning a degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University, Karim entered the Art Center College for Design in Switzerland and studied transportation design there. After a stint in California for study, he joined BMW Group. We head his talents were spotted by Chris Bangle, but we’re glad he doesn’t take the same approach to car design.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
