John McGuinness Is Once More the Fastest Rider on the Isle of Man

Legendary John McGuinness is once more the fastest rider ever on the Mountain Course, as he managed a faster lap than the one during which he broke the speed record 4 years ago.

Back in 2009, Mr. Pint lapped the Isle of Man in 17m12s30, with an average speed of 131.578 mph (211.709 km/h). On Sunday, June 2nd, John McGuinness ran even faster in the 6th lap of the (delayed) Dainese Superbike TT: 131.671 mph (211.858 km/h). McGuinness was also penalized with 60 seconds in one of the laps for breaking the pit stop speed limits.

McGuinness finished the Superbike in the 4th place, but this new record should be a fair trade. Still McGuinness has the Senior race ahead and this might prove a good occasion to improve the lap times once more, so June 7th might be another glorious day in the history of the TT.

The 6-lap Pokerstars Senior TT is the last race of the 2013 event.
