Jenson Button Sells His Bugatti Veyron

When you are one of the world’s best drivers you can only get behind the wheel of the best and fastest cars. Jenson Button is certainly no exception to that rule. One of his cars, an all-black Bugatti Veyron was recently put up for sale on Auto Trader for £900,000 (approx. 135 million).

Not much, coming to think that it has just 1,500 miles on the clock and it belonged to the current Formula One leader.

It seems that the race track is not enough for Button, since the Veyron’s top speed exceeds the maximum hit by an F1 car (246 mph - 397 km/h - achieved by Honda at Bonneville in 2006). Moreover, this is one of just 200 Veyrons that were built by Bugatti.

The Veyron’s main features are listed below:

  • Engine: 8-litre W16 with four turbochargers
  • Power: 1,001HP
  • Torque: 922lb/ft
  • Transmission: 7-speed DSG
  • 0-62mph: 2.5 seconds
  • 0-99mph: 5.5 seconds
  • Top speed: 253mph (408 km/h)

Anyway, there is no need to worry about the 29-year-old driver, as he will certainly not be left with an empty garage.

A Mercedes CLK DTM AMG, Ferrari Enzo, Audi RS6 Avant, BMW M5 and his current favourite, a Mercedes C63 AMG are still there waiting for him.

In the past, Button also owned a Ferrari F430 Spider, Ferrari 360, Ferrari 550 Maranello, Ford GT and Porsche Carrera GT, which is quite a car history.

The Formula One star is leading this season’s F1 championship with 70 points scored for the newly-formed Brawn GP team.
