Jenson Button Drives a Mercedes C63 AMG DR 520 Estate

Jenson Button is now officially a family man. The proof? Last’s year’s Formula One World Champion now drives an estate. However, we are not talking about your average big boot vehicle. Oh, no. The Mercedes F1 driver now uses one of the fastest station wagons available on the market, the Mercedes C63 AMG DR 520 Estate.

Button took delivery of the vehicle from London’s Mercedes-Benz Word. The car offers a high level of exclusivity, as it is one of the 20 DR 520 saloon and estate examples of the C-Klasse in the world.

The vehicle was delivered together with the Brabus tuning company, as we recently found out and is only destined for the UK market.

But its top asset is the performance level. The C63 AMG’s 6.2 liter naturally aspirated powerplant has received the AMG Performance Pack Plus and other goodies, which have raised its output to 520 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This means that the special version offers a 60 hp premium compared to the “standard” C63 AMG.

This means that Button will be able to hit 62 mph in 4.2 seconds (the estate version brings a 0.1 seconds sacrifice for the 0 to 62 mph sprint) and keep on playing up to a top speed of 187 mph (301 km/h).

The vehicle also comes with other modifications that target the technical (new braking system) and aesthetic (exterior and interior) areas.

In case you were wondering, the F1 champion’s latest vehicle has a starting price of 63,680 pounds ($95,592 or EUR77,900 at the current exchange rates).
