Jeep has confirmed that its upcoming subcompact SUV will be introduced at the end of the first quarter. The company declined to go into specifics, but the new vehicle will most likely debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March.
Speaking to Edmunds at the Detroit Auto Show, Jeep president and CEO Mike Manley said that the Italian-built, Fiat-based model will offer the off-road capability of a true Jeep.
"Capability is absolutely important to us. So what I will tell you is that we will, as we have done in every segment, make sure that we have the capability that is true Jeep," Manley said.
Referred to as "Jeepster", a name that Jeep has yet to confirm, the new vehicle will be positioned below the Compass and Patriot and will compete against the Buick Encore and Mini Countryman.
