We've told you a few hours ago that Sergio Marchionne has high expectations from the American brand thanks to outstanding sales volumes and the addition of the 2015 Renegade crossover. But recent data from Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles hints at a very aggressive brand and product extension campaign over the following five years, which also includes the addition of two new models.
Starting with the most import bit of news, Jeep's product portfolio is set to expand in the near future by adding a small SUV and a "three-row model". The small SUV is currently dubbed the "C SUV". According to the proactive lifecycle management timeline pictured above, the Compass and Patriot will be replaced in 2016 by this all-new "C-SUV", which slots between the recently introduced 2015 Renegade and Cherokee.
The current-gen Grand Cherokee is set to receive its second facelift by the end of 2015, before an all-new generation will be launched sometime in 2017. A brand spanking new seven-seater Grand Wagoneer sharing the same underpinnings is slated to debut the following year.
As for the Cherokee, this model will go through its mid-cycle freshening in 2016, when Jeep celebrates its 75th anniversary. The following year, Jeep wants to operate a mid-life facelift on the 2015 Renegade as well. 2017 will be the year the Wrangler will be replaced by an all-new model with the same off-road virtues as its predecessor.
Last but not least, the manufacturer's five-year plan also hints at the extension of the Jeep global dealership network by 1,300 new units, which which will mostly be based in Asia and the Pacific region.
