Between 1967 and 1970, Toyota went all sexy on us and produced 351 Toyota 2000GTs. The car was first displayed in 1965 for the Tokyo Motor Show as a successor to the 800.

Power came from a 2-liter straight-six mated to a five 5-speed manual, though a 3-speed auto was eventually offered.

In America, the 2000GT sold for about $6,800, a lot more than a Porsche 911. But today these rare collectable can go for half a million dollars.

However, this isn’t any old 2000GT, it’s the Open-Top created especially for the 1967 James Bond movie You Only Live Twice, which was filmed in Japan. Only two were built, and they are museum peaces.

The original idea was for Sean Connery to drive in a specially made targa top version. However, when it was finished, it looked ridiculous and the roof had to be chopped completely off. Connery used to be a bodybuilder, but this is clearly a tiny sportscar, judging from how Jay Leno fits in it.
