If it's one thing most experienced aficionados adore, that's the feeling you get when smoking another driver from behind the wheel of your well-built sleeper.
And when we're talking about two high-octane veterans such as Jay Leno and Tim Allen, these guys know the value of such a car all too well. In fact, they're also ready to show the world just how impressive such a deceiving machine can be.
As some of you have guessed by now, we're here because the summer holiday is over, with Jay Leno's Garage returning to CNBC. And the piece of footage at the bottom of the page is a small taste of the action we'll get to enjoy this fall.
OK, so let's get to the numbers. The hidden numbers. We'll start with the car Tim showed up in for the sleeper challenge, namely a 1955 Ford Club Coupe. One whose engine compartment now accommodates a 5.4-liter blown V8 - the beauty of crate engines has allowed this oldtimer to get a Ford GT heart transplant.
However, with Jay happening to own one of the Blue Oval supercars, he didn't need to spend too much time gazing at the engine compartment to figure out what was going on.
As a result, the host of the show decided to give up on his initial HEMI plan, going for "his wife's Camry" instead.
Now, as SEMA aficionados among you might recall, the 2014 edition of the Las Vegas event saw Toyota's Motorsports Technical Center playing with a 2015 Camry and we're looking at that car.
You know, the tube chassis monster animated by a V8 using both supercharging and nitrous to deliver north of 800 ponies to the rear wheels.
The two get it on, but we have to warn you - Jay Leno's Garage won't be coming back until November, so this teaser will have to suffice for now.
