Jamiroquai's Jay Kay Buys Porsche 911 2.7 RS

Porsche UK did a little get-together in the grounds of the Hedingham Castle recently to celebrate the 40 year anniversary of the 911 Carrrera R. Many enthusiasts were gathered there, and among them one Jay Kay, lead singer of Jamiraquai and one of the biggest car nuts in the world.
But he wasn’t at “Classics at the Castle” to check out the scenery, because he actually brought along his very special 2.7 RS, a rarity and a delight to look at. The car was only recently bought and he assures us that about 16 of them exist (in this color, probably).

This sport classic is beautiful in every way, with its dark leather interior in immaculate condition and the aubergine paintjob (that would be eggplant color to you and me).

About 580 of these homologation specials were built by Porsche in the early 70s. At that time, with its 210 horsepower and 975 kg weight, it was the fastest and most focused Porsche for the road.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
