James Hillier Takes the Kawasaki Ninja H2R Around the Isle of Man

Here's one more thing that adds extra excitement to this year's Isle of Man TT. On June 10th, Quattro Plant Kawasaki rider James Hillier will be riding the Kawasaki Ninja H2R around the Snaefell Mountain. This is most likely the first top-ranking road racing event the Ninja H2R attends.

Hillier and the H2R will be part of the Monster Energy parade lap, so it's hard to tell whether we should take the lap times too seriously. With the top bikes being separated by fractions of an mph, only racing conditions could provide a clearer picture of what the Ninja H2R is capable of around the Island.

Kawasaki's presence in the Monster Energy parade lap will also include World Superbike riders Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes. They will be riding two race-replica Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R bikes.

Talking about the H2R, Hillier acknowledges that the track-only version of the new Ninja is a monster. “I’ve seen the road going Ninja H2 at Bournemouth Kawasaki where the Quattro Plant team is based, but this is something else altogether,” he says about the 300 hp supercharged H2R.

We've seen the Ninja H2R up close at EICMA 2014 and the bike looks brutal, to say the least. Clad in a carbon fiber bodywork painted in a special paint that yields a perfect, pure-silver darkened mirror finish. The Ninja H2R is the epitome of Kawasaki Heavy Industries' most advanced technologies, as it embeds expertise from various fields, ranging from huge Diesel generators to aerospace.

The Monster Energy parade lap takes place on the same day as the TT Zero Challenge dedicated to electric motorcycles, the race where Victory's electric machine debuts, too.
