Want to feel young again, like in the ‘60s when you bought your first Jag? Well, here’s your chance, as Jaguar is to build six brand new Lightweight E-types of the incomplete 18-car series started in 1963. The only thing you need is to wait a bit more and prepare a huge case with cash for their release.
Back in 1963, Jaguar started building an 18-car limited Lightweight E-type series roughly based on the on the Low Drag Coupe (which in our opinion was the best looking E-type ever).

Unfortunately, only 12 aluminum lightweight E-types were built, with the last one completed in 1964, while the remaining six allocated chassis numbers remained assigned on paper, until now...

All six of them will be reborn in Jaguar’s factory by the company’s finest craftsmen. As with their sister cars, each of the 6 will be hand built using an all-aluminum body and engine block and they will follow the exact specification of their original 1960s models, including the 3.8-liter inline-six making 300 bhp.

The Lightweight E-type was saving around 250 lb (114 kg) through extensive use of aluminum as well as ditching all unnecessary interior trimmings and exterior chrome pieces (bumpers included).

In case you already have a pile of cash you don’t know what to do with, you’ll have to wait until later this summer when the first new Lightweight will make its public debut, when more details will also be available.
