What, you haven’t heard of the two premium brands working together? What you see here is the latest range of co-developed shoes from the on-going collaboration between the British brands. Dubbed Whitley and Sayer, these two new styles of what Jaguar calls “formal shoe” are here to celebrate the company’s global headquarters in Whitley, Coventry - home of Jaguar design and the Advanced Design Studio.

To create something special, the two British companies have adapted similar values to what Jaguar uses in their automotive manufacturing process. According to the luxury carmaker, the shoe styles were sculpted and refined in clay first, before 3-D printing using composite plastics for pre-production sign off. Then, they were sent as an approved design to the Oliver Sweeney factory in Italy to be handcrafted and stitched into finished shoes.

In terms of special features, we’ll mention a super-flexible yet firm sole to maximize driving comfort while maintaining the flowing lines of the upper’s style. “A special heel profile chamfered to create a pivot point for better pedal control, and a waist-less finish ensure a fluid driving experience without the shoes catching on pedals.

Getting back to the upper’s design, Jaguar claims that it takes inspiration from the Ian Callum-designed Jaguar XJ saloon, with the curved sewn panel on the shoe taking a similar line to that of the D-pillar of the XJ. Meanwhile, the chisel toe profile recalls the signature squared-off Jaguar saloon grille.

Jaguar driver or not, a new pair of these bad boys will set you back at £325 ($494), which sounds about right for an early Christmas gift.
