Today's star is a possible suggestion for a future investment. We're referring to a Ford RS200, a car built in only 200 examples for road-going use. But wait, there's more! RM Auctions Sotheby's is selling the last customer-delivered Ford RS200.

Typically, the first and the last cars out of a production series tend to be the most valuable. This vehicle isn't exactly the last RS200 ever made, but it's the last one delivered to a customer, and that's what makes it more valuable than a regular example.

Furthermore, chassis number 169 was acquired in 1994, despite being built in 1986. In over two decades, the car's odometer only registered 1,960 kilometers (1,218 miles) and the vehicle has never been run in a competition. This makes chassis 169 of the Ford RS200 the lowest mileage model of its kind, and possibly the only one not involved in motorsport.

If this is not enough, the example available for sale is fitted with original parts and was properly maintained over the years. Thanks to careful maintenance and thoughtful care, the car looks factory fresh. The only new parts on this pampered example are the Wilton wool carpets. Since the original ones have deteriorated through natural aging, period correct replacements in original color have been installed.

The car will be auctioned on Thursday, December 10, 2015. The concessionaires expect the RS200 to fetch between $475,000 and $600,000. Since the car has been properly taken care of throughout the years, the acquisition of this pristine example could prove to be a wise investment. A few years back, we reported a 1986 Ford RS200 Evolution going under the hammer for approximately $100,000.

The only issue with this proposition is that the car's value could only be maintained if it isn't driven too many miles. And paying around half a million dollars for a car that you can't drive must be frustrating to say the least.

If the future owner decides to drive his like-new RS200 in the United States, the customer can do so because the vehicle was legally imported and is currently titled in the US.

In over fourteen years, he got behind the wheel of several hundred vehicles and in the offices of the most important car publications in his homeland.
