Did you know Colorado now has a movie car museum? It's been opened recently and includes more than 100 celebrity and movie vehicles, both replicas and originals.
Thanks to the folks over at Petersen Automotive Museum, we can take a virtual tour of this place. It's called Rodz & Bodz and it's home to quite a few gems. Not to mention that you won't see some of these movie cars anywhere else.
Like the insane, 200+ mph (321+ kph) bike from "Priest" and the Chevrolet Nova from "Death Proof." And yes, that furry van was featured in Jim Carrey's "Dumb and Dumber." If you're a fan of classic Camaros, you also see the Bumblebee from the 2007 rendition of "Transformers."
The Mad Max Interceptor is yet another desirable movie car that rests in this museum. And it's one of the original stunt cars too. You'll also see Harry Potter's "flying" Ford Anglia, the gorgeous 1935 Ford from "American Gangster," and several cars from the "Fast & Furious" franchise.
As far as replicas go, James Dean's "little bastard" Porsche 550 Spyder is arguably the most interesting, but the museum also built their own version of the DeLorean time machine from "Back to the Future" and a diesel-powered Batmobile. Other movie car replicas include a "Smokey and the Bandit" Pontiac Trans Am, the KITT car, and a "Jurassic Park" Jeep.
But wait, there's more. The tour reveals that Rodz & Bodz also has quite a big collection of TV series cars, as well as a big stash of cool classics that you can rent for weddings and music videos. Cool exhibits include a 1953 Chevrolet Corvette and a rare Auburn Speedster. Oh, and it also showcases one of the very few civilian Harley-Davidson WLA bikes built in 1942.
Opened in 2019, this museum is quite new, but it's also one of the coolest if you're into movie cars. If you're not from Colorado, the virtual tour below is an entertaining way to meet most of the exhibits displayed here.
