We still don't know all the new Infiniti codes by heart, but the sporty shape of the FX is easily recognized. Nowadays, it goes by the name QX70, and one more special edition model is being presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The QX70 Ultimate is not going to dominate headlines when the German competitors have more to offer. However, it's not going to break the bank either, as prices start at just £52,280 in Britain, which is about the same as the basic Audi Q7 3.0 TDI.

What makes this updated SUV worthy of such a pompous name? Well, the design tweaks are subtle, but they will get you noticed. Up front, there's a front spoiler with integrated fog lights and the grille is painted in dark chrome.

Another thing we noticed are the wheels, 21-inch ones that have a design similar to turbine blades and give the QX70's profile a distinguished appearance. Furthermore, the back of the SUV now features a diffuser that integrates twin exhaust pipes.

However, you are not going to win any major races with this bad boy because the engines available are either a 3.7-liter V6 petrol or the 3.0-liter diesel. Both are matched to a 7-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Interior changes are limited, but they do include purple stitching, plush leather and shiny black finishes all over. Oooh, shiny!

Ahead of Frankfurt, Infiniti has spread a couple of media kits about the QX70 Ultimate, so we know market-to-market specifics. In Britain, the SUV sold with the 370Z engine £52,430 OTR, while the less powerful but more frugal diesel costs £52,280. In Germany, those numbers turn into €64,500 and €64,250 respectively.

Pretty soon, Infiniti will start development of an all-new luxury SUV, but there are still many things we like about this model. For example, looking at its profile, we couldn't help notice it's designed as a coupe.
