Illusionist and TV Star Murray SawChuck Owns a 1973 Corvette Stingray

Magic is a big word for secret recipes use for illusions, but that doesn’t mean we don’t find them entertaining still. And we believe it’s safe to say Murray SawChuck is much more than just an entertainer. He also is a big car lover, having a soft spot for the classic breeds, just like this 1973 Corvette Stingray he bought from a Tennessee farmer and restored himself.

History channel’s hit show Pawn Stars has been steadily growing in popularity, and we’re pretty sure SawChuck has something to do with this. But we’re not here to discuss his passion and talent for pulling illusion stunts, but about his other passion: cars. According to Auto World News, it’s something his father introduced to him when he was a kid, riding along in his dad's 1993 Pontiac.

Apparently, the 41-year-old stage illusionist, magician, comedian, actor and television host has had a thing for classic Corvettes, especially those wearing chrome finishes. And that is because, according to the resident magic historian on Pawn Stars, modern vehicles are all the same. “A Chrysler 300 in the dark looks like a Bentley in dark.”

To get what he’s heart called for, SawChuck first searched online, but it was a road trip in which he'd eventually encounter his red beauty. As a matter of fact, red is the color he changed the 1973 model in, considering it was finished in green initially.

One of the reason it's his favorite ride is that he worked on its restoration himself, something the TV host says you can no longer do with new car models.

I got this one in Greeneville, Tenn. from a farmer who lived an hour away from the nearest airport. He had a 25-acre little house and a wooden shed in back with a super long gravel driveway. He had the car parked in there, and he loved the car. He was in the process of restoring and it bringing back to original shape. But he was older and couldn't get into the car anymore,” he explained.
